"I love you"
That is a heavy word that carries very deep meaning that we might not really understand.
People always say it to their loved ones and relatives to express love, affection, and attraction, most of which cannot always be based on platonic or sexual connection.
That leads to marriage and procreation when it happens between two male and female adults who are old enough to understand when they need to be attracted to each other and they want to take it to the next level.
People fall in love every day, and with the beautiful flowers of romantic relationships, it seems as if the story will not end, but still, many of them lead to the end of the tunnel when there is light while others crash along the way.
Whoever won it is, we cannot cease to believe that the beautiful wonders of the butterflies we fill in our stomachs should not be forgotten.
From teenage days, people begin to develop an attraction to the opposite gender because that is what was naturally built into us,, and we cannot ignore it.
The early stage of development and puberty begins to happen when our sexual organs begin to mature and we begin to feel our sexual desires. At the end of the day, we find someone who we get attracted to be in love with and sometimes get married to them, or another thing can happen.
Such things can be heartbreak,, deception, betrayal, or anything that may alter the cause of the relationship, making it unable to reach the very end.
In Nigeria, the case is not different because all of us are still humans, and our parents did it, so our great grandparents, ancestors and we are repeating the same line.
The reasons can be very different: procreation, companionship, sexual satisfaction, financial security, social validity, and others.
But what happens in a situation where someone quickly loses interest in such love and no longer wants to continue or becomes afraid to keep it working.
Now, with the influence of Gen Z in the nation, we cannot cease to understand that things are no longer the way they should be, and everything gets monetized for the purpose of personal selfish status and aggrandizement.
When someone tells you that they love you, you don't really understand what their purpose is, what they have in mind, or how genuine it is until many things begin to play out.
Now indeed, there is no love without sacrifice. We make the sacrifice to prove to others how we love them and how we are ready to protect and provide for them to the very end of our last.
But what if the beneficiary of such love and sacrifice decides to take advantage of the whole situation and use it for their own personal good without minding how uncomfortable it can be for the doer?
Nigerian men have long been complaining about the roles that females play in their love affairs, and that may lead to relationships always crashing.
Imagine a nation Reading by poverty where a young woman who has no job at hand has someone who says they love her and is willing to make any sacrifice for their comfort
What do they do
The end of turning the person who has decided to love them to become their source of livelihood and support often goes to the extent of making them give them unnecessary gifts and provide unleaded material support which cannot always go down well with the young man.
And now the problem has become an issue where most of our girls do not remain loyal or faithful to one person but rather depend on the provision of different men for their personal survival.
If a young woman needs 500,000 naira to survive for the season and has a young lover who promised to give her 250,000, they have become so entitled to it that they feels you should have provided them with the whole amount they needs and even some extra.
If the young man complains about not having it, the best thing they will do is find three or four lovers who will give them and, at the end of the day, have more than what they need.
And that is the result of emotional infidelity due to greed.
This often goes to the extent that the young woman may decide to have different sexual partners for the sake of getting some material support and aid from the men.
The more the men try to prove their love through sacrifice, the more they feel entitled to it that the man should have done much more.
If you fail to provide the most in need what they would do is find three or more people to substitute you with.
While it is causing depression and frustration on the side of the men it is making the women feel entitled and lazy.
If someone has anybody who provides for them why should they be working again.?
A young woman goes out of the way to tell her friends how what she does to avoid such costly living without doing any single job, and others begin to practice it.
Even a young woman with genuine intentions may see what her friends enjoy, and loyalty and submission will become a problem because we make uncomfortable sacrifices that not everyone is willing to make.
She begins to pressure her own boyfriend to bring the same goodies that she might not even need.
By soul doing, it is the highest bidder who gets them the most, and now they have reduced to commodities rather than precious, priceless assets, which they should be.
When a young man with genuine intention trusts it three or four times before different women and fails he goes around claiming that there is no more love in Nigeria.
For your information, a recent event showed many Nigerian young men getting married outside of different countries like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, China, and Japan.
He has now created the impression that Nigerian women are just after material things and pressuring of their men which makes them not desirable in the love market.
It will be an omission to say that there are no longer good women among them, but there are just very few of them, and daily, many of them are influenced by the life
style and mindset of multiple others.
To them, giving money is the best way to express love, and that is their own love language.
And now, they exchange their physical cards for sexual or material satisfaction rather than long-term commitment.
It results in a situation where the heartbroken young man may decide not to be loyal to anyone again and rather frolic about with women for material exchange 💱.

It's a pity, but we will keep on.
